Michelle Nelson graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design in 2003. She currently resides in Tomahawk, Wisconsin, with her husband Nate Nelson, and children, Samuel(4), Naomi(2) and Aliyah(6 months).
While studying graphic design in college, Michelle discovered a love for photography and this love grew and developed as she captured the moments of her growing family. After working full time in the publishing industry as a graphic artist for several years, Michelle began to shoot weddings and families part-time. Then in 2009, she turned exclusively to photography as a career (as well as being a full-time mom!)
Michelle loves to look at everyday objects and scenes in a creative way as well as capturing the emotion of each subject, whether it be a bride and groom's love, or a family's quirky sense of humor. She also enjoys working with natural light on location, where families are "on their own turf" and therefore feel more comfortable and relaxed.
